COLLABORATION

Sculpting the Senses — Iris van Herpen

Through Sculpting the Senses, Dutch designer Iris van Herpen presents a visionary exploration of couture, science, and nature.

With over one hundred iconic creations across nine thematic worlds, the exhibition isn’t a traditional one.

But rather unfolds as an immersive journey through shifting environments, sensory soundscapes, and dreamlike mannequins designed specifically for van Herpen’s universe.

ABOUT THE BODY

At its core, the exhibition asks questions about the body and its environment. Its role in space. Its relationship with clothing. Its future in our rapidly changing world.

Van Herpen’s designs draw from natural systems. Flowing water.

Organic growth patterns. Skeletal frameworks.

Our custom mannequins were designed to fit into this rich world.

As partners of the exhibition, we supplied all mannequins, including the

exclusive “Liquid Ghosts” series.

Eight custom 3D printed figures, developed in collaboration with Fiberneering and designed by Philip Beesley.

Transparent like water. Organic and molecular. Luminescent.

Created for the exhibition's Water and Dreams atmosphere, the mannequins echo the fluidity and innovation that define Van Herpen's work.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF VISUAL MERCHANDISING

At Hans Boodt Mannequins, we continue to explore how form and design can enhance storytelling across retail and exhibition spaces. Collaborations like this push us to rethink what mannequins can be, and how they can contribute to meaningful, immersive experiences.

Our mannequins are not simply display forms.
But characters belonging to the world around them.
